((Okies so this is the start of a short story/novel i want to write and i would appreciate any comments))
A red haired girl ran through the dark forest, tears rolling down her face. Her long hair hurtled behind her as she ran faster, her breath quick she looked behind her. Where was he? Had he given up? She stopped as she came to a large oak tree. Hiding behind it she listened. Trying to hear for anyone moving around she grimaced, her heart seemed to be beating so hard that it could be heard throughout the whole forest. ‘Maybe he’s left’ she thought trying to catch her breath. She was covered in dirt from falling around and her eyes stung from the sweat now covering her. She looked at her hands which where scraped and bleeding from pushing branches away. Her heart raced as she stood in silence trying not to give away her position. Suddenly a noise broke the silence, a loud snap which told her that he hadn’t. Quickly she took off at a run again not looking behind he to confirm that he was there.
“Oi….Get back here” she heard him shout.
She ran for what seemed like hours, occasionally checking behind her. Not knowing how to get out of the forest she just kept running straight. Why was this happening? She asked herself. She wiped away sweat from her forehead smearing blood on it instead and moved slightly to the left as a huddle of trees were directly in front of her.
She had almost given up hope when she suddenly saw something in the distance. Slowing down she walked cautiously towards it. As she got closer the tree’s got thinner and thinner. It was a road. She stepped out to the side of it breathing slowly. Suddenly she heard someone behind her and she ran onto the highway.
“I‘ve got you now” he said as he stepped out of the trees. His eyes looked manic and the tree’s had cut his dirty face. His long brown hair held several unwanted leaves. He pulled a gun out of his Jeans and pointed it at her. Terrified she didn’t know what to do so stood where she was. Then suddenly a loud horn blasted throughout the vicinity and bright headlights captured her attention. They were headed straight for her. With nowhere to go she tried to more towards the safer side of the road. But before she could take more than a few steps it was too late, It was going to kill her. The horn blasted again…..
Tali O’Hare woke with a jump. She looked over at her alarm which showed 5:45am. Looking around in the dark wondering if anyone was there she leaned over and turned on her lamp. Wiping the sweat from her forehead she placed her head against her head board breathing deeply and tried to calm her throbbing heart.
